Bald Mountain Brook Lean-to, ME 19 Miles Hiked Today 2031 of 2167 Miles Hiked Total

Crossing the Kennebec River Last night just before dark we sat on the edge of the pond and watched the clouds fly over, a Loon float by, and a bat swoop for bugs. It was very peaceful.

Not much excitement today. I took the ferry across the Kennebec to avoid possible drowning. I picked quite a few blueberries and blackberries. My boots fell apart at the sole a bit more. We had gorgeous weather. That's about all I can think of.

Funny quotes from a sobo last night: "I thought the trail would be, like, a trail." "I thought there wouldn't be any people."
